Laboratory
Various collaborations with researchers of national (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Universidade de Brasília, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Universidade Federal de São Carlos) and international (Spain, Czech Republic, United States of America, South Africa, Chile) institutions provide beneficial synergetic effects due to complementary knowledge and research facilities. The research projects are supported by Brazilian funding agencies (CNPq, FAPERGS, CAPES) and industry (Petrobras, DuPont), including support for the exchange of researchers and graduate students.
The Laboratory of Technological Processes and Catalysis (TecnoCat) is part of the Institute of Chemistry at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, located at Campus do Vale. Currently, Prof. Dr. Henri Schrekker, member of the Department of Organic Chemistry, is group leader. Students from different courses, including chemistry, chemical engineering and material sciences participate in various research projects. Undergraduate students acquire initial scientific and technological experiences and graduate students develop their master or doctoral thesis.
