Prof. Dr. Jairton Dupont
Jairton
Dupont, born 1958, received his Ph.D. in Organometallic
Chemistry with Michel Pfeffer (1984-1988, Université
Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg – France) and post-doc
in asymmetric synthesis with S. G. Davies (1988-1990,
University of Oxford, UK). His is currently assistant
professor of organic chemistry at the Department
of Organic Chemistry of UFRGS (1990, Porto Alegre,
Brazil). His research focusses on Organometallic
Chemistry applied to Organic Synthesis and two-phase
catalysis with a strong emphasis on synthesis
and asymmetric catalysis. He has authored about
100 scientific publications and patents.

Prof. Dr. Adriano Lisboa Monteiro
Adriano
Lisboa Monteiro, born 1965, obtained a Ph.D.
degree from the Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse-France)
in 1993 working with Professor Igor Tkatchenko,
and was a postdoctoral fellow in 1998 at Massachusetts
Institute of Technology with Professor Stephen
L. Buchwald. He joined the Department of Organic
Chemistry of UFRGS in 1994 as assistant professor
and is currently associate professor of Organic
Chemistry. His research focuses on homogeneous
catalysis with a strong emphasis on metal-mediated
synthetic methodologies for the construction of
C-C bonds. He has authored about 40 scientific
publications and 1 patent.
